Terms of Service & Safety Protocols
Safety Protocols
At Moon Cast Shadow, your safety and well-being are our highest priorities. Please read and follow these important safety protocols when using our lunar ritual kits and wellness products:
I. Thermal & Fire Safety
The use of fire is a transformative element of our rituals, requiring absolute vigilance. By purchasing and utilizing Moon Cast LLC candles and matches, you agree to the following protocols:
-
Constant Supervision: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all flames before leaving a room or retiring for the evening.
-
Surface & Environment: Place candles only on stable, heat-resistant surfaces. Keep the "ritual space" clear of flammable materials, including curtains, papers, and dried botanicals not contained within a secure vessel.
-
Draft Avoidance: Ensure your candle is placed away from open windows, fans, or high-traffic areas where drafts may cause uneven burning or accidental tipping.
-
Safe Extinguishing: We recommend using a snuffer to extinguish your beeswax candles. Do not use water, as this can cause hot wax to splatter or glass vessels to crack.
II. The Protocol of Smoke & Air (Cleansing Wands)
The ritual of smoke cleansing—whether using our Rosemary, Lavender, Blue Sage, or Juniper wands—is a practice of atmospheric refinement. Because these bundles are composed of dried organic matter, they must be handled with heightened awareness:
-
Vessel Requirement: Always hold your cleansing wand over a heat-resistant vessel, such as our Celestial or Heritage copper bowls or a Spirit Selenite bowl, to catch falling ash or hot embers.
-
Vigilant Motion: When moving through a space to cleanse the air, do so with slow, deliberate movements. Ensure you are not near flammable fabrics, such as curtains, bedding, or upholstery.
-
Respiratory & Pet Safety: Smoke cleansing should only be performed in well-ventilated areas. High concentrations of smoke can be distressing to those with respiratory sensitivities and can be toxic to birds, cats, and dogs. Ensure pets have a clear exit from the room during the ritual.
-
The Extinguishing Process: To extinguish your wand, press the smoldering end firmly into a fire-safe bowl of sand or against the bottom of your copper vessel until no smoke remains. Do not use water, as it can damage the wand and cause mold to form within the tightly bound herbs.
-
Post-Ritual Audit: Once finished, remain in the space for at least five minutes to ensure the wand is completely extinguished and no latent embers are present.
III. Botanical & Herbal Integrity
The organic herbs provided by Mountain Rose Herbs are curated for sensory and symbolic application within simmer pots and burial rituals.
-
Non-Consumption: Our herbs, resins, and botanicals are not for human or animal consumption. They are sold as curios for ritual use only.
-
Respiratory Awareness: When engaging in a simmer pot ritual, ensure the area is well-ventilated. If you have known respiratory sensitivities or asthma, exercise caution when inhaling steam or smoke.
-
Pet Safety: Certain botanicals (such as Peppermint, Sage, and Juniper) can be toxic to cats, dogs, or birds if inhaled in high concentrations or accidentally ingested. Please consult a veterinary professional regarding the safety of your specific companion animals.
IV. Mineralogical & Tool Handling
-
Raw Materials: Some stones, particularly rough or unpolished specimens (such as Fluorite or Selenite), may have sharp edges or may be water-soluble. Handle with care and keep out of reach of children.
-
Proper Use: Tools such as copper bowls, selenite vessels, and stone-infused pens are intended for their stated ritual purposes. Moon Cast LLC is not responsible for injury resulting from the misuse of these artisan tools.
V. Environmental Stewardship
-
The Burial Ritual: We advocate for the "Leave No Trace" principle. When burying birch bark or herbs, ensure you are on your own property or have explicit permission. Do not bury non-biodegradable items (such as stones or glass) in the earth.
-
Burn Rituals: If you choose to burn your birch bark, do so only within a fire-safe vessel (such as our copper or selenite bowls) and ensure the ashes are completely cool before disposal.
VI. Professional Disclaimer
The products and information provided by Moon Cast LLC are for educational and intention-amplification purposes only.

Not a Substitute: Ritual practice is a supplement to, not a replacement for, professional medical, legal, or psychological counsel.
